Client Testimonial - Transforming a Rural Driveway From Dirt to Asphalt

Client Overview

Our client, David, was the homeowner of a large, rural property in Dayboro — nestled in the heart of Moreton Bay, northwest of Brisbane. David needed a durable solution for his extensive dual driveway.

The charming property, with its sweeping views and steep inclines, required a surface that could withstand the demands of everyday use and the challenging weather conditions.

Specific Issues

The homeowner was facing ongoing issues with his current all-dirt driveway, which had become uneven, rough, and prone to erosion, particularly after heavy rain and flooding. He wanted to convert the entire driveway into asphalt to achieve a flatter, smoother, and far more durable surface that could withstand the region’s weather conditions while enhancing the overall appearance of the property.

A major complication throughout the project was persistent rain and wet conditions, which led to soft, slippery ground, forcing multiple reschedules and delaying the start of the works.

Careful timing and project planning were crucial to ensure the site was adequately dry and stable before heavy machinery could be safely used.

The Solution

Throughout the weather delays, we maintained regular communication with David to reschedule the work safely and as promptly as conditions allowed. Once the site was dry enough for heavy equipment, our team moved quickly to complete the project.

We began with full site preparation, which was completed over two days. Around 240 tonnes of high-quality base material were laid and compacted to ensure a strong foundation.

Following this, approximately 100 tonnes of asphalt were laid and finished in a single day, creating a fresh surface designed to handle the rural terrain and prevent future erosion.
